Hello and welcome back. In this month’s update, I will reflect on my two years as a blogger and tell you about some changes to my investment strategy and my monthly returns. Also, I celebrate a huge milestone. The UK has been steadily improving in terms of Covid. With our world-leading vaccination programme, we can smell the freedom returning. The weather is getting better, and we are all excited for our release on parole. Scotland beat France in a thrilling finale to the Six nations. Now let’s see if Warren Gatland can recognise the quality in our team for the … Continue reading March update – Major milestone reached
This week, I developed a new obsession with researching my family tree. It’s something that my grandmother was into, and, to be honest, I had no interest in it until lately. Even more surprisingly, it’s given me some hugely valuable … Continue reading Family tree research: What it has taught me about wealth.
This update is covering January and February as I missed my January update. Oops. I hope you weren’t worried about me. I can barely remember what happened in January now as everything is blurring into one day. Living and working … Continue reading February 2021 update – another lockdown month.
FIRE is all about obtaining enough funds so that one does not have to work any longer. The journey is often long and depends on a high savings rate (the proportion of your income you save) to get there. The … Continue reading The best place to save in the UK: where had the best average household income?
It’s that time of year where we stop, take a breather and assess what was good and bad about the year. As I’m sure everyone on the planet is aware, 2020 was an exceptional year for many reasons. 2020 saw … Continue reading 2020 review

We also had a new bathroom installed, during the lockdown. That was quite tricky as it required us to have no available toilet for long periods. We were able to book a hotel nearby when … Continue reading November 2020 – the month of lockdown and financial progress.

With Oktoberfest cancelled due to Covid 19, my plans to go back to Munich this year were scuppered, so I’ve had a few boozy days in London instead. Its been great catching up with mates and not worrying about spending thanks … Continue reading September 2020 – big spending alert!
